Our operations span across various regions, and we are now seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Managing Director to lead our Asia-Pacific (APAC) strategic and commercial operations based in Singapore, including offices in Shanghai and Tokyo
- As the Managing Director for APAC, you'll report directly to the executive board. You will lead a diverse team of professionals, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous development. This includes setting strategic priorities, identifying growth opportunities, and ensuring operational efficiency across all functions. The role demands a proactive approach to business development, client relationship management, as well as risk and compliancy management, ensuring the company maintains its competitive edge in a dynamic and rapidly evolving market.
- What you’ll do
- Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute the business strategy for the APAC region, aligning with the global vision and objectives of the group;
- Identify market opportunities and trends to drive growth and innovation
- Business Development
- Lead the expansion of the environmental commodities business across the APAC region, establishing and nurturing relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders;
- Identify and secure new business opportunities, partnerships, and projects to enhance the company’s market presence.
- Drive the monitoring and analysis of market developments and policy trends in the APAC region in collaboration with the R&D and Regulatory teams;
- Team Leadership
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence;
- Provide guidance and support to team members, promoting professional development and growth.
- Empower and drive growth together with functional/geographical heads
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Represent the company at industry conferences, forums, and events, enhancing the company’s visibility and influence in the APAC market;
- Collaborate with government agencies, NGOs, and industry associations to promote sustainable practices and carbon trading initiatives.
- Be a key contributor and influencer in the region on sustainability by being involved in boards, committees, discussion panels and charting the path for ACT APAC in this growing industry.
- Who you are
- Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field;
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior leadership role in environmental markets, environmental finance, energy or related field, with proven track record of leadership and business development;
- Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders;
- Proven experience in managing and leading teams in a multicultural and dynamic environment;
- Demonstrated ability to drive growth, innovation, and operational excellence.
